The latest and greatest 5x5 from MoYu is now available! With its new and improved design, the MoYu HuaChuang 5x5 is touted by MoYu themselves to be the best 5x5 on the market. It measures 64mm across, and appears virtually identical to the MoYu AoChuang 5x5 in terms of size and shape on the outside. While it generally performs on a similar level to the MoYu AoChuang, it features some improvements in turning and stability that are likely to make it a refreshing upgrade for dedicated 5x5 speedcubers.

Holy god.

Do you like 5x5? Do you own any other 5x5? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, buy the Huachuang. Mine wasn't purchased here but I wanted to share my opinion in the hopes that more people purchase it. I personally was not very fond of the Aochuang, like at all. I thought it was slow, locky, popped way too much, and after the novelty of it being a new puzzle wore off, I didn't solve it because I didn't enjoy solving it. I eventually pulled the trigger on a Huachuang and I couldn't be happier that I did. It couldn't be more different, much faster, has a really nice feel, corner cuts just as well, it can still lock up but only if you're on loose tensions and turning rough/fast and it DOES NOT POP. I'm very aggressive with turning on 5x5, my shengshou and aochuang popped and exploded frequently, generally once every 2 solves. I did a PB average of 12 with this cube and got neither. It's a really fantastic cube, I do think it's way too expensive, but considering I've paid more for a V Cube 5, I guess it's not too bad.

Fast, smooth, but locky
By Leif Baker on 17 January 2016
Product: MoYu HuaChuang 5x5
Out of the box this cube is sluggish, doesn't corner cut all that much, and just like all Moyu cubes comes very dry. After cleaning out the stock lubricant, putting weight 4 on the core and weight 1 on the pieces, the cube became very smooth and fast. This has been my main 5x5 since I bought it, but there is one thing that bothers me every time I solve it, (don't get me wrong it is actually really fun to turn) the cube locks up a lot particularly in the outer layers. This will happen in the middle of parit, messing up my entire solve and then again in the 3x3 stage. Despite the lockups, this cube is by far my favorite 5x5 due to the smooth, fast, and stable feel of the puzzle. Buy this cube if you are a collector, or if you don't mind bad lockups.

Flagship of 5x5s
By Matt Szalkowski on 21 July 2015

Fresh out of the box, the turning is slightly stiff but very smooth, even better than the AoSu 4x4. Even the middle slices turn nicely. With some light tension this thing will fly. Outer layers corner cut up to 1-1/2 cubies. The puzzle feels dense and solid - I've dropped it a few times and it doesn't even show a mark. It's pricey but it's worth it.

This cube is awesome but locks up too much for my liking. Compared to the Aochuang this cube has better stability while turning very fast. It comes sandy out of the box, but that will slowly go away. The Aochuang has less stability but locks up way less and I find that refreshing while solving the cube. Aochuang is my main for now.

A step backwards from the AoChuang
By Mike DeCock on 11 July 2015
Product: MoYu HuaChuang 5x5
The AoChuang was well known for the risk of epic lockups. During my first few months of using that cube it happened frequently but over time, I learned to work around it and have pretty much forgotten that it happens.

The HuaChuang makes it much more difficult to get one of those epic lockups but the way they did it is by making the outer layers very catchy. It's annoying. Very annoying. And it annoys me every single solve.

That's not to say that you can't get good times with the HuaChuang. My averages are on par with the AoChuang and overall the cubesfeel very similar. The only difference is that the AoChuang allows the 3x3 stage to flow nicely while the HuaChuang constantly caches.

this is a great cube it turns very well and I beat my personal best time on the 1st solve. It is expensive but if you have the money and you like or need a 5x5 then this is the cube for you.
