The new GuoGuan YueXiao Dual-Adjustment kit is a full hardware set that allows for the installation of the dual-adjustment mechanism in the GuoGuan YueXiao. The kit includes 1 core, 1 nut adjustment wrench, 1 screw adjusting wrench, 7 elastic adjusting nuts, 7 dual-adjustment springs, 7 washers, 7 springs, and 6 center pieces.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

Cool Feel

This kit definitely changes the feel of the cube in a really nice way. After putting it in my cube was more flexible, corner cut more easily, and locked less than before.

What it does is reduces the travel distance of the centers away from the core while also having shorter, softer springs than the original yuexiao ones. This makes the cube more flexible, and also more compact because of the reduced travel of the springs.

One downside it that the name is a little misleading because there isn't extra adjustability compared to a normal cube. All that you're adjusting when you tension a cube is how far the head of the screw is from the core, which reduced/increases the travel of the center from the core, and also reduces/increases how far the spring is compressed while the cube is in it's neutral position. This effects how far the cube will flex, and how easily it will flex. So by using this kit, you reduce how far the cube flexes, and increase how easy it is to flex, because of the shorter springs and screws that are also effectively shorter.

I would recommend setting it up exactly how it is recommended. After I set it up it was awesome, but then I decided to experiment and no combination of components worked at all other than the full set from the dual adjustment kit. So it's definitely an all or nothing mod.

It is also really annoying to set-up, but once you've got it, it's golden! I would recommend a set and forget it approach once you find something you like. The heads of the screws are also suuuper tiny, and the screwdriver included in the kit didn't work as well as a normal screwdriver, but the kit screwdriver is needed in order to adjust the nut on the top of the screw (which gives you even more range to play with for how tight you want your cube to be :)

Overall an awesome product. :D

Dual Disappointment

Cool idea but the kit I received was poor. 3 of the 7 core screws were stripped, but you could make it work with heavy elbow grease. The worst was after getting it all together, the caps don't fit the new center pieces. They fall right out. Could be a lemon.
