MoYu LiYing

The Moyu LiYing is definitely one of the best 3x3 cubes I've owned. Speedy, Slick, and almost flawless performance. I would give it a 9/10. There are virtually no catches, but the problem is when they do catch, it is fairly major and can slow down your solve. Corner cutting is decent, not phenomenal, but 45 degrees for regular, and about half a cubie for reverse cuts. I did not lube this cube, as it is already smooth, controllable and perfectly tensioned right out of the box. Although it has great performance, the only PB I broke was AO10. I prefer my cubes, stable, light, and controllable, and the MoYu LiYing lives up to these standards. I would recommend this cube to any level of cuber, from beginner to advanced. The MoYu LiYing is a very good puzzle. OOTB, the LiYing is slightly scratchy and very crispy. Once broken in and lubed, this cube is buttery smooth and crispy. The turning is very fast and airy, but it is controllable. This cube does not catch on me, so my solves with this cube are very fluid. Corner cutting is around 50 degrees, and reverse is about 3/4ths of a piece.

The mechanism of this cube is very similar to the YJ cubes and the TangLong. The edge piece of the LiYing is very blocky. It has tracks, which allows the LiYing to be fast. The torpedoes ensure that the cube doesn't pop. The corner piece of the LiYing is very similar to the TangLong's corner piece. They both share the squared off corner design. The only difference is that the LiYing's corner piece has a hollow design.

This cube is my new main over the Gans356.

This cube has a crispy yet smooth feel. I personally like this. However, there are minor catches, and even if they are minor, they ruin the fluidity of solves. Therefore, I won't give this cube a 5 stars. Without this problem, this cube is really good. Another problem for some people might be the size of this cube. The Moyu Liying is smaller than the standard size of 57 mm, with 55.5 mm. I don't recommend this cube for those people with big hands, and I wish Cong(creator of this cube) would make a bigger size. However, if it would lower the overall performance, I guess that's fine. I'll summarize it all by listing the pros and cons of this cube.

Pros: Crispy, smooth, doesn't pop, doesn't corner twist.

Cons: Too small, catches frequently, ruined fluidity of solves.

Overall: Great cube with a few minor problems.

Out of the box, it wasn't that great. Though after setting it up, it became amazing with good corner cutting, great speed and smoothness and little locks. Deffinatly recommend it.

I average about 16 seconds and this is the best cube out of my 59 cube collection.this cube has been my main for ever since I got the cube. This cube has gotten all of my Pb's. This is better than the new Cong's design cube.This cube is well worth your money and you should get this cube. also this cube is also superior over the moyu hauling. this cube has been my main for over 9 months and it is amazing after you lube the core and put a small amount of lube on the pieces. put a small amount of lube below the track and between the torpedo and the bulk of the edge piece. DO NOT PUT LUBE ON THE CORNER PEICES OR THE CENTER AND PUT ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF LUBE.

Not sure if I just got a bad unit, but mine barely cuts 30 degrees, and feels dry and scratchy. It's a good cube , and reverse cuts pretty well, but it locks up and catches far more often than I'd like.

The liying is dry and turns slowly out of the box. after lubing, tensioning, and breaking it in this is one of the best cubes i own. it is fast, corner cuts well, and has a nice feel, but popping is possible on this cube especially on loose tensions.

My reactions to this cube over time:

Arrival: Very excited for this cube. Hoping Moyu could make another great cube (keep in mind this review was about 2 months after I got this cube). I saw it on the cubicle the day it was on here, and I ordered it instantly, anticipating its arrival.

Out of box: It's okay. It's really dry and scratchy. The tensions are a bit too tight, but it surprisingly does okay for corner-cutting.

After proper lubing/tensioning: I have to say, this is a really good cube. I'll see how it feels after I break it in.

After break-in: NEW 3x3 MAIN!!!
This exceeded my one-handed main and two handed main, one of which was a mini Moyu WeiLong v2. Three words: Get this cube. If you really liked the WeiLong v2, however, get the AoLong.

Out of the box the tensions were perfect but the cube felt pretty dry. I lubed the core and pieces with weight 4 and it is my new main. It is a loud cube but I absolutely love the crunchy feeling. 57mm Fangshi cut stickers worked perfectly (:
