QiYi Thunderclap V2

This cube is good, not bad, not amazing, just good. Corner cutting is perfect, turning is kinda of bumpy yet enjoyable. I like the size of the cube and the texture of the plastic. I'd say if you don't feel like spending $20 or more at the moment then this cube is perfect and won't disappoint.

Out of the box, the Thunderclap V2 is a fairly good cube.

With a few break in solves, this cube is much smoother than the original Thunderclap. Corner-cutting is probably one of the best I've seen yet, however it does have some small catches (before lubing), that can be pretty annoying for fast cubers. I currently own both the original Thunderclap and the V2 and I find myself using the original more than the V2. But overall, it is a great cube, especially for the price.

The plastic case is also really cool. Great cube overall!

A friend recommended me the Thunderclap V2, so I decided I'd get one.

As soon as I opened it, I was very pleased with the looseness of the cube. It felt easy to do finger tricks without much effort. Corner cutting is amazing too, but I still average above one minute so this doesn't make much difference to me.

After about a month of messing with it, the only real problem I have is that it feels TOO loose for my liking. Maybe I just haven't gotten used to a cube with a different feel yet, but I find myself partially rotating faces unintentionally, just from the pressure on my fingers when I hold it a certain way.

I first bought this cube about a year ago and when i got it i was amazed. I couldn't lube it because i was like a fairly new in speed cubing but it was absolutely amazing without lube and I imagine it would be even more better with lube. I am gonna buy this cube again because i love the feel of the cube and the stability, i like clicky cubes and this cube is that. To be honest i really recommend this cube to other people.

I have had the thunderclap V2 for over a year and it has been a great cube, my first 3x3 was the original thunderclap and a couple things I like are the corner cutting and that it rarely locks up and I am wondering when cubicle labs will make a magnetic version of the thunderclap v1 or v2?

I have had this cube for about 4 months now, and it is amazing! I ordered it with the pro set up and lubicle black, and was not disappointed. It was a little oily out of the box, but a quick rub down with a clean towel fixed that immediately.

The corner cutting is right over 45 degrees both ways, and in the time I have had it, I have only had 1 corner twist. I have also had my PB only get better and better with this cube. When I first got it, my PB was 1:28 (slow I know), but this cube has helped me get my PB down to 0:39.64 (still slow, but I am still new to this!!!!). The color scheme is good right out of the box for high contrast except the white/yellow. The white/yellow could use a deeper yellow for my preference, but that is easily fixed with new stickers. The caps need a little digging to remove them, but once removed, they go back on easily, and they don't budge while scrambling or solving.

It was very easy to learn how to set up and lube a cube properly on this one as well. The pieces are sturdy enough to feel comfortable The quality of the stock stickers are great too. I keep my nails long on my right hand (for playing guitar) and the stickers have not showed the first sign of chipping in the time I have had it, but my GAN 356S has already had chipping in the first couple of weeks. The cube itself is fairly clicky, which I tend to like. It hasn't had issues with lockups or popping.

This cube is a favorite for many cubers, I would highly recommend this cube for anyone that wants a good solid cube. This cube can be set up for almost any style. It may not be a favorite for those that like a sandy or super quiet cube, but that all falls on preference at that point.

I got this 3x3 awhile back and right out of the box it was very good. It felt sandy (like most ootb cubes do) but with a satisfying crunch. I set it up with weight 5 in the core and maru and weight 1 on the pieces. This made the cube PERFECT. Then after about 3 months of use it beacame very slow and the corners caught on the pieces A LOT. It still has never been the same. I will say this though, just go with the v1 and that wont happen. For almost a $10 cube Im kinda disappointed!

This cube is very fast and smooth. The turning is clicky and satisfying but its REALLY noisy so I wouldnt play with it in public. With factory tensioning it corner cuts absolutely everywhere. More than 45 degrees normal and line to line reverse. There is also some spring noise but some lube should fix it. The cube catches here and there sometimes but overall it is very good for its price. I would recommend Thunderclap V2 for beginners but if you have more money than 10$ just get Valk3.
