Product Description

The QiYi Thunderclap V2 is now available! As the hotly-anticipated successor to the original QiYi Thunderclap, the Thunderclap V2 is expected to meet or surpass expectations for a cube in the low-mid price range.

The cube will also come with a clear plastic box in place of the cube bag that came with the original Thunderclap.

Note: This DIY Kit actually comes assembled but without any stickers (stock stickers + logo are included with the DIY Kit). This is ideal for someone who plans to resticker the cube anyway and doesn't want to take time removing the stickers. Please note that the cube is also not pre-lubricated from the factory to facilitate putting the stickers on.

Our Promise to You

All of our products are guaranteed to be free of defects, or we will replace and reship at no cost to you. Please contact us within 4 weeks (28 days) past the delivery date to report any issues with items you have purchased.

Please note that some new cubes when being used for the first few times may experience what is termed a "pop". This is when one or more parts of a puzzle pop out without any damage actually being done to any of the pieces. This also occurs from time to time during normal usage. Pops are typically not considered a defect if the parts which come off can be reassembled by hand.

The corners on 2x2 puzzles should not be twisted as doing so may snap the piece. Damage caused by corner twisting is not considered to be a defect.

AMAZING

My friend bought and I tried it unlubed and it was OK then when he lubed it it could literally do 45 degrees plus corner cuts with 2 layers and i traded for it and its been my main for months. Also, it is very fast.

One word: Clicky

Being my second cube, I wanted to custom sticker it. Me being an idiot, I bought Thunderclap V1 stickers wasting about a dollar since I was planning on exchanging only two colors.

This cube is not factory lubed as it says and is virtually impossible to use right outside of the box. Petroleum Jelly did miracles to this thing unlike my first QiYi Warrior which it made sluggish af.

If you like a tactile cube this thing is amazing but the red and orange might be hard to tell apart so I would definitely recommend buying at least 1 set of stickers (orange)

Great cube though. I was warned, said screw you and bought it. I love it :)

Not a bad cube by any means, but...

Short Version:
If you were to describe the Qiyi Thunderclap V2 in one word, it would be, "clicky". The cube's okay, it's not a bad cube by any means, but if you really want a Qiyi Thunderclap, you'll be better off with the V1. In my opinion, the Qiyi Thunderclap V2 is the Dayan Panshi of 2016.

Long Version:
The Qiyi Thunderclap V2 probably one of the most hyped up cubes of 2016. The V1 was just as amazing as most of the speed cubes of the time but was a little bit more than half or a third the price of the competition with its great corner cutting and turning, and also its flexibility of its feeling depending on how the user wants it. With the V2, it was said that it would fix some of the issues that the first one had with squared-off corners for preventing corner twists and rounding of the centers and the rounding of the edges to increase the corner cutting. With all of that and it retaining the lower price point, it seemed like the Qiyi Thunderclap V2 would shape up to be one of, if not the, best speed cube on the market. In my opinion, the Qiyi Thunderclap is frankly, disappointing.
When I got the cube it was dry and insanely tight due to it not being lubricated and set up in the factory, though that was due to the fact that I got the unstickered version. Let's get the positives out of the way first, what it promised before its released was true to its word, the corner cutting was pretty much flawless and easy to do and only reverse corner cut where it can't do a normal one. Not that that's out of the way, the real s#it begins, when I lubricated it with my usual method of Traxxas 50k on the core and the pieces with a little bit of Maru, it was just clicky as all hell and too fast for me, it felt nothing like the V1, I actually felt disgusted with the cube, it just felt so bad to me. I did what everybody said to do to this cube which was put Thunderclap V1 springs in it, which made it a little better, keyword being little. It was still very very clicky but now it's sluggish with the V1 springs in it. It was only until that I loosened it a lot that it started to be a bit decent, but all in all, even with the $9.50 price tag, I don't think it's worth it.

it sucks

i got this cube at comp thinking it was gonna be great because i had used a tclap v1 as my main for a while then when i opened it and turned it it sucked it popped and cornertwisted so i went home lubed it with wt5 and maru silk and speedy and it as better but you could get so much better it worse than my guanlong :( very dissapointed

This is my new main!

I have the Weilong gts and the aulong stickered and stickerless. The stickerless aulong was my old main. Right out of the box this thing was terrible. Very very dry. Required tons of force to turn. I lubed the core and put some traxxis weight 3 around a corner and edge piece. Immediately this cube became super fast yet controllable. It's much more controllable than a Weilong gts. A lot of reviewers have said that lock ups are a problem but I haven't experienced it that much. Plus the price is outstanding compared to other top 3x3 cubes. Also you get a box to store it in which is a nice touch.

Great Cube

After I lubed and tensioned it, and broke it in this cube was great. A little better than the v1, never had a pop or a corner twist. It is very loud, even with lubicle silk on the pieces.
